Professor Ouyang Benqi was invited to participate in the International Symposium on "Criminal Law for the Future: Theoretical Development and Methodological Innovation".

On May 20, 2023, the International Symposium on Criminal Law for the Future: Theoretical Development and Methodological Innovation and the congratulation on the 70th anniversary of Professor Gao Mingxuan's teaching were held in the Juying Hall of Friendship Palace of Beijing Friendship Hotel. The symposium was sponsored by the Chinese Society of Criminal Law Research, the International Society of Criminal Law China, and the Criminal Law Research Center of Renmin University of China, and co-organized by Yuhuan Municipal Committee and Municipal Government, Renmin University Press, Beijing Dongwei Law Firm and Beijing Zhoutai Law Firm. The forum was attended by well-known scholars at home and abroad, including Chen Zexian, researcher of the Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chen Xingliang, Boyer Chair Professor of Peking University, and Michael Pawlik, Professor of the University of Freiburg, Germany.

Professor Li Hong of Tsinghua University School of Law, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Criminal Law, and Editorial Reviewer of Chinese Law, Bai Xiuyun, moderated the second session of the symposium, Organizational Crime in the Era of Digital Economy. As one of the speakers in this session, Professor Ouyang Benqi discussed the private and public law view of personal information of citizens, and reinterpreted the crime of infringement of public information. Professor Wei Dong from Sichuan University Law School, Researcher Deng Zibin from Institute of Law of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Li Xiang from Criminal Law School of East China University of Political Science and Law, Deputy Director of Tianjin Arbitration Commission and President of Tianjin Case Study Society Chen Canping talked about the presentations of this module and highly affirmed the cutting-edge significance of the seminar in the Internet era.

The seminar was held in a combination of online and offline, and was broadcast live on three major platforms simultaneously, which attracted wide attention. In the era of continuous innovation in theory and technology, how criminal law responds to future development is a social question that needs to be answered urgently. The successful holding of this seminar helps promote the change and development of the legislative and interpretive theories of criminal law in the new era. President Ouyang Benqi's explanation of the specific crime of infringement of citizens' personal information helps promote the special regulation of crimes against citizens' personal and democratic rights in the Internet era, and further enhances the influence of Southeast University Law School's criminal law discipline in the country.
